This weekend my one goal was to make a dress out of “I Am Cute Dresses” by Sato Watanabe.
One of the patterns really caught my eye. It was a polka dot, halter style dress. I love vintage dresses and this really looked the part!
The major problem with the book is that you are only given measurements to make the pattern. You can’t enlarge the pictures. My Mom and I used a cutting board and tissue paper to make the pieces. I had to add a couple inches to the waistband. We used a really silky fabric so around the edge we used to bias tape. This really added time onto our project.
But then finally…
We had the dress finished. Just had to hem it.
So then…
The finished piece!
And yes, I am wearing my Doc Martens with it!
